Hashknife Solar Energy Center
The Hashknife Solar Energy Center is an opportunity to boost the local economy of Navajo County and create jobs, all while generating clean, American made energy to meet Arizona's growing electricity demand. The project consists of 475 megawatts of solar generation and 475 megawatts of energy storage. The proposed center is located south of Joseph City, northwest of the corner of Obed Road and Territorial Road.
Construction on phase 1 of the center began in December 2024! For construction updates, to get involved, or to ask any questions, please fill out the form on our Contact page.
At peak construction, the Hashknife Solar Energy Center is expected to employ as many as 450 people. After construction, the project will employ up to 16 additional permanent operations and maintenance (O&M) staff.
The Hashknife Solar Energy Center will support Navajo County through new property tax revenue, helping fund essential services for the community. Additionally, lease payments provide a steady stream of income for farmers and ranchers.
